For the first time in its history, Televisa completely stops its 'dream factory' until further notice. The Mexican company, which unlike Telemundo initially resisted suspending the recordings of the fictions it was recording in Mexico, has finally made the drastic decision to stop all its soap opera production as of Monday as a preventive measure against the unstoppable spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19.
This measure affects, among other melodramas, I Give You Life, the fiction starring José Ron that has just been released in Mexico with great audience success.
“Last day of contingency recording. We will continue as soon as possible”, shared one of his actors last Friday through social networks.
The Lucero Suárez production, which will premiere on Univision on April 13 at 8 p.m. EST, hopes to resume its recordings once the pandemic is under control.
"It will not be unfinished," said Erika Buenfil on Twitter, who is part of her cast.
Angelique Boyer's new melodrama, Empire of Lies, will also indefinitely stop her recordings as a pandemic prevention measure, likely forcing her to change her release date, which was scheduled for May 4.
Empire of lies
Televisa has also ordered to stop the recording of the soap operas that were about to begin to take shape these days in its huge production center.
This is the case, for example, of La mexicana and the güero starring Itatí Cantoral, who has been forced to indefinitely postpone filming until further notice.
The Mexican and the güero
“Given the circumstances of the contingency generated by the coronavirus La mexicana y el güero temporarily postpones the start of their recordings. We continue working from our homes on the different things that can be done, but the recordings themselves for social responsibility and because it is also the task of our company, we have to defer it”, announced last Friday its producer, Nicandro Díaz, in the social networks.
The melodrama was to begin filming this Monday in Mexico City.
"Thank you for taking care of us and taking precautionary measures, all in good time," one of the actresses who will be part of the cast of the soap opera was quick to thank.
