The coronavirus tragedy continues to plague thousands of families who cannot even say goodbye to their loved ones. Sundee Rutter is one of those people whom the virus took away from the possibility of hugging and kissing her six children on their deathbed.

This courageous mother who lost her husband eight years ago had overcome breast cancer, but the Covid-19 attacked her so hard that she couldn't beat him. She was just 42 years old and had a large family to live for.

Her children, between 13 and 24 years old, lost their mother on March 16. Shortly before his death they were able to dedicate a few words to him through a walkie talkie and from the other side of the glass in the hospital room.

"They took a walkie talkie and put it on his bed next to his pillow," his 20-year-old son Elijah told CNN en Español. Through that window "we were able to say our last words to him and say goodbye to our mother," the young man continues with pain. "I was able to tell him that I loved her."

Being one of the oldest, he promised that everything would be fine with the little ones, whom they would take good care of after they left. "We older siblings are going to make sure that everything is fine with the little ones and that they grow up to be the adults that my mother would want them to be," he said.
