We just heard that several college students invented the ultimate hangover remedy, and the crowd-funded product actually sounds kinda intriguing. SunUp is a vitamin heavy powdered supplement created by Yale students Liam McClintock and Margaret Morse. You dissolve it in water before you start drinking - so yup, it springs into action before you even see any hangover symptoms.

But HOW does it work ?! Here's some of the science behind it from their Indiegogo campaign: "Our dietary supplement helps restore balance and function to the body, allowing it to return to normal after a night of drinking by attacking the four underlying causes of hangover symptoms: acetaldehyde buildup, glutamine rebound, immunologic disturbances, and vitamin and electrolyte loss."
Short of responsibly drinking less alcohol, could this be a solution to getting more done the day after a party?
There's no way of knowing yet, since clinical trials haven't been done yet (nor has SunUp been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration). Still, the supplement has raised over $ 40,000 on Indiegogo and their goal was half of that, so there's definitely demand! It will be interesting to see how this thing pans out…
In the meantime, we'll be trying not to drink too much using the age-old method of pacing ourselves - because as boring as it sounds, that's still the most effective way to date of preventing a hangover.
