After learning that she was expecting her first baby, Marlene Favela made a promise to the Virgin of Guadalupe. “When I found out that I am pregnant it was a miracle. The first thing I did was run to the Basilica of Guadalupe to see the Virgin and [I spoke to her]: 'all I'm asking is that my baby be fine, please. I beg you, intercede for me so that everything turns out well,”recalls Favela.
“[So when she was born] I went to thank her and [I said:] 'I promise I will bring her to you when she is born. When she was born, I wanted to show her to the world, but I had that promise in my heart and my husband knew that he was going to present himself to the Virgin first and then to you, who have always supported my career.”
Promise fulfilled! Once she brought her little Bella to the Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City, Favela opened the doors of her cozy apartment to People in Spanish and together with her husband George Seely they introduced Bella, the new head of the household.
