Downtown Seattle experienced a night of terror Wednesday due to a shooting that broke out near the popular and touristy Piker Place Market in which at least one person lost his life.
According to local media, the perpetrators of the shooting fled the scene. Authorities have asked the public for help finding them.
The city's police department reported that one person died at the scene and that at least five people were injured, including a 55-year-old woman and a 9-year-old boy.
"It was pure panic. I have never seen anything like this,”a witness told local television.
According to People, three of the wounded are in stable condition and at the moment information about the deceased has not yet been released.
"It was pretty scary when we saw people running because you don't know if it's going to be gunshots or firecrackers," said another witness.
This is the third shooting in the city in less than 24 hours. Police have not yet determined the reason for the shooting and warned that there would be at least two people involved in starting this incident.
Through their Twitter account, the authorities have been informing their residents about what happened and claim to be investigating the case to find the whereabouts of the suspects.
Authorities identified those responsible as Marquise Tolbert and William Ray Olliver, both 24 years old.
"Both men are considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see them or know where they are”, they asked in their official account.
