The Duchess of Cambridge's latest appearance on television, Kate Middleton, continues to speak. The reason is her apparent rejection of a loving gesture from her husband, Prince William.

At one point in the royal family's Christmas special, A Berry Royal Christmas, it can be seen that William is chatting and smiling as he tries to place a hand on Kate's shoulder, but the duchess moves gently so that he doesn't touch her.

The action has sparked comments and memes, plus plenty of speculation. Some comment that it is a sign of marital problems, while for others it may be because she was caught off guard because her displays of affection in public are rare.

Both were in conversation with renowned television presenter and food critic Mary Berry, with whom they participated in a friendly contest where they showed off their cooking skills and baked a cake for the Christmas holidays.

During the recording of the show, Kate made several revelations, such as her "terrible" waitressing skills when she worked in her university days and the dishes that Prince William prepared for her to impress her when they were students.
