As in all families, women suffer trying to please the mother-in-law to get along with her and not get into trouble with their husbands. Imagine now that your mother-in-law is the Queen of England herself.

Although Lady Di and Sarah Fergusson never ended up being the ideal daughters-in-law in the Queen's eyes, Camilla Parker, Duchess of Cornwall, did not enter the family on the right foot, to say the least, for well-known reasons. Lady Di's eternal rival and queen are reputed to have collided forever.

Curiously, the one who least imagined at first seems to be the queen's favorite daughter-in-law: the wife of her youngest son or countess of Wessex. A public relations professional, Sophie made countless mistakes in her early days at the palace and gave the queen more than a serious displeasure.

However, over time, this woman who physically bears a great resemblance to the late Diana of Wales, has conquered the heart of the queen and the evil tongues say that they became inseparable. In fact, it seems that Elizabeth II comes to her home countless afternoons to have tea together, far from any protocol.

Her relationship with all members of the royal family is so good that even William's aunt is now Kate Middleton's favorite personal shopper.

In case there was any doubt, in a speech from a foundation to which both ladies have just come together, Sophie of Wessex referred to when mentioning Queen Elizabeth as “mom”, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by any fan of the royals.

So don't worry if you started off on the wrong foot when meeting your mother-in-law. If Sophie can conquer the Queen of England herself, you can get your mother-in-law too. It's just a matter of patience and a right hand!
