The Facebook message posted by a Tennessee teacher not only reached the ears of actress, singer, and businesswoman Jennifer Lopez, it also touched her heart.
After the publication of a Jacksboro elementary school teacher went viral - in which she explains that she was moved to tears when one of her students confessed that she did not have enough food at home - the singer did not stay crossed arms. The interpreter, along with her future husband, Alex Rodríguez, promised to supply the school pantry for a whole year.
“We learned that teachers helped students bring food home when they didn't have it. When we saw this story, not only did my eyes fill with tears, Alex did too,”López wrote on his social networks. "We decided to donate rich and healthy meals for one year, for the students and the school pantry."
López explained that both she and Rodríguez are partners in the company Tiller & Hatch, which delivers boxes of prepared food at home, and that as business owners it is important to make these kinds of decisions in order to help the community.
“Giving and being there to help others is what really matters. We are happy to be able to have a business with partners who also believe that no child should go to bed hungry, "said the singer. "Everyone would drink to have access to delicious and nutritious food."
He confessed that the call he made to the students to give them the news of the donation was definitely his best time of the month.
"It has been one of the best things we have been able to do," said López.
