Music mogul Tommy Mottola received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday.
Thalía's husband, who is credited with the careers of artists such as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Carly Simon, among others, was accompanied by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Lili Estefan, his wife and children.
Other artists signed and developed by Mottola include Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, and Marc Anthony.
The ceremony was held Thursday at 11:30 am next to the famous corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Vine St., next to Hotel W. The Mottola star is located just a few feet from the star of Thalía.
Born in the Bronx, New York, on July 14, 1949, Mottola began his career in music at just 18 years old, using the name TD Valentine on the Epic Records record label. Later he started working for music publishers Chappell Publishing and started his own company, Champion Entertainment Organization.
Mottola was hired by CBS Records in 1988 to direct his operations in the United States and became the president and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment in 1990, revitalizing its publishing division by acquiring the music catalogs of The Beatles and Michael Jackson. It also allowed Sony to become one of the first major labels to make commercial digital downloads available.
