When it comes to lasting love, former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama are an example to follow. The couple celebrate 27 years of marriage and have shouted it to the world with loving messages.

Through his social networks, the former president paid a loving tribute to his wife with a quote from the legendary British band The Beatles.

As the Beatles said: It gets better all the time. Thank you baby for a wonderful 27 years!”, She wrote with a snapshot of both of them holding each other watching the sunset.

For her part, the former first lady responded to the compliment with a message along with a photograph of them smiling in front of the beach.

“27 years ago, this man promised me a life full of adventure. I can say that he has fulfilled it. Here it goes for our next chapter with an empty nest and discovering what follows, while we feel the magic that united us all those years ago. Happy anniversary Barack”, wrote Michelle.

The couple has never been shy about publicly showing their love, even during their eight-year White House. Obama has highlighted his love and admiration for the mother of his two daughters, whom he has called his best friend.

In 2010, he said that being married to Michelle has been one of his greatest achievements.

"If you mention the 100 most popular things I've done as president, being married to Michelle Obama is number one," he said that year in his speech to the nation.
