It is no secret that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is one of the most remembered American first ladies in the world. In her short time at the White House, the beautiful socialite became known not only for her charisma and her taste in art, but also for everything that surrounded her relationship with John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in Dallas, Texas when he rode with her in a convertible car. But without a doubt, one of its best attributes was its impeccable style, one that continues to be a benchmark for the richest and most powerful women in the world, as well as for the new generation of first ladies.

Kennedy Onassis' wardrobe included pieces from the world's most prestigious designers, who created models especially for her. But after her death in 1994, there was very little we knew of where those spectacular pieces ended up that made her a true fashion icon. That until now that the whereabouts of the former first lady's clothes was revealed and the truth is that we have been speechless at this news.

It turns out that America's Reluctant Prince: The Life of John F. Kennedy Jr, by Steve M. Gillon, the author says that when John F. Kennedy Jr. was looking for advertisers for his George magazine, this Valentino Garavani, one of the designers favorites of her mother and who at the time created more than a hundred exclusive designs for her, who expressed that she was interested in obtaining or buying the designs that she had made for her.

It was then, according to the publication, that the young man, who died in a plane crash in 1999, confessed to him that he had donated his mother's clothes to a convent located in Rhode Island.

"We couldn't imagine having to see people walking the streets of New York wearing their clothes so that's why I donated them," John told Valentino. “We gave it to a convent in Rhode Island. Just imagine those nuns when everyone leaves and the lights go out, they play music and dance in their clothes.”

We cannot imagine them and we are very envious.
