Meet The Actor Blerim Destani

Actor Blerim Destani today shares the big screen with Hollywood greats in the film The Poison Rose, which just premiered in May.

But his arrival in the big leagues was not a stroke of luck. Lorenzo Rodríguez's character, in the film headed by Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and Oscar nominee John Travolta, came to fulfill one of the artist's dreams after years being part of the stage.

For the past 20 years he has been involved in numerous action movies and series that have made him famous internationally. How did you feel in your first Hollywood production?

“For me it was like a dream. I met someone a few years ago, a producer who told me he was working on a big project and said he wanted videos of my work. Two months later they called me to tell me that John Travolta liked the video and we started talking about the project,”the interpreter told People En Español.

His role, a bad boy who cleans up Freeman's mess and goes through life without a care in the world, is part of a story based on historical events of murder and corruption in Texas.

Aside from his debut on the big screen, the actor has more projects on the horizon like the movie The Comeback Trail alongside Robert De Niro and Tommy Lee Jones.

Blerim is of Albanian descent and grew up in Germany. He speaks English, German and Albanian. He spent his childhood in Tetovo, a city in Macedonia at the foot of the Sharr Mountains. Blerim discovered his passion for acting at an early age.

At 14 years old, he made his acting debut in the Albanian television movie Atje ku nuk lind dielli (He Doesn't Get Up There). While producing short documentaries, he began taking acting classes in England.

On the personal side, this young acting promise is a watch collector and has created her own brand of cigars, Qunto, whose name she attributes to her grandfather. Don't lose track of Blerim Destani!
