A Colombian model who lived through an ordeal in the world of drug trafficking in Mexico spoke for the first time eight years after being captured along with drug trafficker José Jorge Balderas Garza, alias 'JJ'.

Juliana Sosa had a model life in the Mexican capital when she met Balderas Garza, who was a member of the Beltrán Leyva clan in Mexico.

According to Sosa, he told the Colombian show business La Red, they presented him at a meeting of friends and she did not know what he was doing.

That a person has luxuries, cars or jewelry […] does not give you certainty of what person it is. She was a normal person, we went out to eat, to walk through shopping malls […] she was gentlemanly, thoughtful, she made me feel like a woman, ”she said when asked about the honor of her suitor.

Although she highlighted the chivalry of the ampón, the model revealed that what she liked the most was its "brusque" part.

Sosa shared three months with Balderas Garza, who is still imprisoned in Mexico today after being sentenced for attempting to kill Paraguayan soccer player Salvador Cabañas.

In an operation that took place in January 2011, both were captured by the Federal Police along with two other men from the Beltrán Leyva organization.

After being held by the police for three days, in which - the Colombian reveals - she was beaten and interrogated, her odyssey continued for another six months in which her name was publicly exposed by the Mexican authorities until she was acquitted and deported to Colombia.
