A 24-year-old man died after an electronic cigarette exploded in his face. According to a forensic medical report obtained by Time magazine, William Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, died last month when the electronic cigarette exploded in his face, breaking his carotid artery and causing a stroke. The cause of death according to the report was a "cerebral infarction" that blocked the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain.
The accident happened on January 27 and Brown died two days later. Alice, the boy's grandmother, told DFW that a part of the cigarette was stuck in his grandson's throat. According to her, the researchers told her that the problem with this type of electronic cigarette is the battery. It is not the first time that serious damage has been reported from a faulty electronic cigarette.
