What generosity!

A Northern Irish couple who won a prize to win their prize with friends, family and charitable causes. Your reasons? Money "money does not bring you happiness".

At a press conference in Belfast on Friday, Frances and Patrick Connolly, who are 52 and 54 respectively, said they had made a list of around 50 people they wanted to divide their earnings with, most of them which will be a big surprise since they have no idea what is included, reported the BBC.

"This is a massive sum of money, and we want it to have a huge impact on the lives of other people we know and love, as well as our future," said Frances Connolly, who previously worked in education and is now planning to make a PhD in clinical psychology.

“There are currently around 50 people [on the list]. It will be a lot of fun giving it away,”he said. "The pleasure for me will be seeing their faces."

Her husband Patrick agrees with the decision, saying that they are "quite sensible people" and "we are not too outlandish yet."

Patrick, an entrepreneur who once ran his own business, decided to retire, although he said he would probably think of a new project to keep himself busy, suggesting that he did want to use some of the money to create jobs.

“I have a wonderful wife, a wonderful family and wonderful friends, so this is the cherry on the cake. Money does not bring you happiness. We already had happiness and were very blessed in life.”

The couple, who have three daughters and three grandchildren, said they were not big spenders and that they had lived a simple life, largely without frills, before he won the jackpot, although they were now planning to go on vacation.

Meanwhile, in the United States, the MegaMillions winner, the biggest prize in history has yet to be pronounced.
