The world of sport and wrestling is in a state of dismay after news broke that UFC star Rachael Ostovich had to be hospitalized after being the victim of a violent attack.
The popular 27-year-old fighter, who is known as the "Wonder Woman" of this modality, had to be rushed to a hospital in the city of Honolulu, Hawaii, to treat her wounds.
Despite the fact that the reports on what happened assure that the athlete has already been discharged from the medical center to which she was taken, it is also claimed that Rachael could have suffered a serious fracture in an orbital cavity of her face and which would jeopardize his immediate future in the world of fighting.
As revealed by TMZ through its online site, the authorities in Hawaii are investigating what happened and the first reports reveal that the attack was carried out by a person close to the fighter, so it would be treated as a case of domestic violence.. So far, no arrests related to the event have been reported.
Ostovich was in the midst of preparing for the fight with Paige VanZant on January 19 at the iconic Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. There is no doubt that this would be the most important moment in Rachael's professional career, but given the severity of the injury to his face, multiple media already predict that the match will have to be canceled.
The UFC Wonder Woman jumped to recognition as one of the participants in the reality show The Ultimate Fighter 26 in 2017.
