As fans continue the countdown to the opening of Toy Story Land on June 30, more details emerge adding to the excitement of discovering the colorful new theme area that will come to life at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Visitors will be "reduced" to the size of a toy when they enter this colorful area filled with beloved toys, pieces to assemble and gigantic board games. Across 11 acres that recreate Andy's backyard from Disney Pixar's Toy Story movies, visitors will be immersed in the wonderful world where Woody, Buzz, Jessie and all their friends go out to play. The rides and experiences, straight from Andy's imagination, will make park visitors enjoy the best recess of their lives, even after the Tinker Toy lights come on.
Here are some of the news just out of the box:
Alien Swirling Saucers. Designed as a toy set that Andy won at the Pizza Planet restaurant, this all-new attraction will bring fun out of this world. The flying saucers of the green aliens from Toy Story are ready, and here on Earth, visitors can join the game. On toy spaceships, visitors will spin and spin non-stop between toy planets and space stations, as "The Claw" swings above them. This space adventure is covered in multi-colored lighting and distant galaxy sound effects.
On the Move: Sarge and the Green Army Man Drum Corps will march multiple times a day throughout Toy Story Land, stopping to play with visitors with huge Pixar balls, gigantic crayons, and a game of Sarge Dice. As the Green Army Man Drum Corps marches at their own pace, everyone is invited to follow them to their fun interactive training ground. Will visitors have what it takes to become Andy's backyard recruits?
Wheezy, the squeaky penguin toy from the Toy Story films, will do much more than make visitors smile at the Slinky Dog Dash, the whole family roller coaster that will be part of Toy Story Land. The new figure from Audio-Animatronics will appear in the last scene of the roller coaster singing "I am your faithful friend" ("You've Got a Friend in Me") with that voice of his, as incredible as it is unexpected. Wheezy will be joined by his toy friends: Mike, who gives him a microphone, and Mr. Spell, who provides fun comments through text messages.
After a day of games in Andy's yard, visitors can relive their memories with products exclusively for sale at Toy Story Land. Just announced: headbands crowned by one-eyed green aliens, or by Slinky Dog, who also inspires a toy whose springs light up. It can even extend around the waist or shoulders, and become a fashion accessory. Boys and girls will be able to show off their visit to Toy Story Land with commemorative shirts that read “I Played There”, showing that they were the first to visit Toy Story Land. These products and many others will be available in stores through Toy Story Land.
