NFL Star Dedicates Touchdown To His Late Baby

American football can be seen as a rough and violent sport, but on many occasions it has shown that it can also leave very emotional moments. This was demonstrated last Sunday in the game played by the San Francisco 49ers with the New York Giants.

Marquise Goodwin, a player from the Californian team, scored a touchdown in the second quarter of the game, without anyone suspecting what was going to happen. As soon as the score line passed, the athlete knelt down, crossed himself with the sign of the cross, and fell down in tears on the grass of the legendary Levi's Stadium.

Although his peers came to comfort him, very few actually understood what was going through the minds of Goodwin, who just hours before the game had lost his baby.

“I want to thank everyone who prayed for Morgan [ Goodwin] and me during this pregnancy. Unfortunately we lost our baby due to complications and her premature birth this morning at 4 am,”revealed the NFL player along with an emotional image posted on Instagram of her little boy's hand.

Despite the pain, I am thankful for the blessing of having a wife as brave and resilient as Morgan. The pain (physical, mental and emotional) she had to endure was too much. Please pray for the Goodwin family,”she added in her emotional writing.

For their part, Marquise's couple also shared a moving photograph of their baby, along with which they expressed their feelings after the loss of their baby.

“This week has been very emotional for my husband and me, trying to keep our baby healthy in the womb. However, God had other plans for us. Today in the morning I had a premature delivery of my precious baby. Despite our loss, my husband scored a touchdown for our son, Morgan revealed.
