Playboy, the magazine created by Hugh Hefner, has broken the scheme since its first print run in 1953 and continues to revolutionize the written press market.

The publication announced that the new November-December issue will feature Ines Rau, a French model who will become the first transgender bunny to appear in the adult magazine.

“I lived a long time without saying I was transgender. I went out a lot and almost forgot. I was afraid of never finding a boyfriend and being seen as weird. So I was like, 'You know what, you should just be who you are.' It is a salvation to speak about the truth about yourself, be it about your gender, your sexuality or whatever. People who reject you are not worth it. It is not about being loved by others, it is about loving yourself,”Rau told Playboy, who posts excerpts from his interview on his website.

The cover of the magazine in which Rau will appear, will be dedicated to its founder Hugh Herfer, who passed away on September 28 in California. A statement sent by his company, Playboy Enterprises, reported that Hefner died of natural causes in his home, at the age of 91.

Rau is a sought-after haute couture model who has appeared in Balmain advertising campaigns and has also appeared on the pages of Vogue Italia magazine, according to the Playboy portal. In the official account of the magazine on Twitter they published a message in which they affirm that Herfer's mission was to fight for the rights of all people.
