Relatives of brokerage Karina Vetrano watched the video heartbroken where Chanel Lewis, the man accused of killing her in August in New York, confessed how he savagely assaulted her until ending her life.

According to the New York Post, the 30-year-old's family broke down in tears when she first saw the murderer and heard the details of his torture. Cathie Vetrano, the victim's mother, let out an anguished moan and didn't stop sobbing when she heard Lewis calmly confess the brutal beating he gave his daughter and how, after destroying her teeth, he continued to beat her until she lost consciousness and finally strangled her.

At one point, the inconsolable woman carried the one-foot-long crucifix that she brought to court to her face as she sobbed, while her sister, Tana Vetrano, wept petrified in her seat.

For his part, the father of the deceased, Philip Vetrano, said he was "very angry" and attacked the relatives of his alleged murderer, who left the court before the video ended. "His family left the room," he said. "They could not hear her confession. We already know where the coward took his cowardice."

Lewis confessed that he grabbed the athlete when she ran past him through a swampy pond, adding that she scratched his face when he hit her five times before knocking her unconscious. "I'm done with her, strangled her. She fell into the puddle and drowned, "she says coldly in the images. "I got up and wiped my blood. And she was calm, in that pool [of water]."

Unbelievably, after telling the police how he "ended up with her," it seems the 21-year-old believed he could pay to get out of the murder charges. "Can I straighten my affairs?" Lewis asked the bewildered prosecutor … Well, you're the prosecutor, right? Where do we go from here? Is there a restitution program or something like that?”

Before confessing, he had told Detective Barry Brown, "I want to change my life, sorry for what I did."

According to that video, Lewis, who has pleaded not guilty to this crime, claimed that he had not raped her. However, the corpse of the young woman appeared with her sports shorts pulled down. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in the first degree and two more for sexual abuse in the first degree, plus four counts of first-degree murder, five counts of second-degree murder. If found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
