Lilian Argueta, owner of a junk business in Florida, took the scare of her life when she discovered the body of a woman who was missing inside a freezer.

"I thought it was a witch or a mannequin," the woman told the local newspaper Sun-Sentinel about the discovery of the body of Heather Anne Lacey, which occurred on March 15. "I thought 'it can't be a person' but there was a bad smell," explained the woman of Guatemalan origin.

The 55-year-old woman and resident of the town of Margate, Florida, related that she and her husband are the owners of the aforementioned junk business and that she made the macabre discovery by inspecting the freezer that was stored in her warehouse on Northwest Eight Street..

At the discovery, the woman began to scream causing the neighbors to go to the winery to see what was happening. "I just heard the commotion and everyone screaming," said Steven Calcano, a mechanic next door to the business to the aforementioned publication.

The freezer came from the apartment of Jonathan Escarzaga, 36, who died on February 17. According to police sources, the landlord had decided to change the electrical appliances in the apartment and sold everything as scrap metal. Police do not yet know if the man knew Lacey or if it had anything to do with the woman's death.

The victim disappeared on November 21, 2013 at the age of 30. He had a history of drug abuse and was living on the streets at the time of his disappearance. From that moment on, the Broward and Hollywood County Police and the coroner's office began to try to solve the mystery of his disappearance.

Lacey's family told the aforementioned newspaper that she attended university for a couple of years and that she had two children, but that in her last pregnancy she underwent a caesarean section and from there began taking pain pills. The habit turned into addiction and he later started using cocaine. Towards 2006 the woman began to accumulate arrests. "She was very smart and had a lot going for her, unfortunately her downfall was drugs, taking drugs and being addicted to them," said Patti Palumbo, mother of the victim.

For his part, Argueta assures that he cannot forget the moment he discovered with the corpse. The woman's body, which was blonde, had dwarfed and was dark, as if it were a mummy. It tastes bad to me. She was a woman and something bad happened to her,”lamented the businesswoman.
