Two men who met through a chat room are accused in Chicago, Illinois of having plotted and heartbreakingly executed the death of a hair stylist as part of a bizarre sexual fantasy.

Wyndham Lathem, 46, a former professor of microbiology at Northwestern University, discussed for months with Andrew Warren, 56, the idea of "carrying out his sexual fantasies of killing others and then killing himself," according to revealed Natosha Toller of the Cook County District Attorney's Office.

In late July, Lanthem purchased a plane ticket for Warren, who was working at Oxford University in Cambridge, England, to travel to Chicago. On the morning of the 27th of that month, Lathem let his guest into his apartment. There, the men surprised her boyfriend of 26 years, who was asleep.

Trenton James Cornell-Duranleau, originally from Michigan and a living hair stylist, woke up to realize that a stranger was attacking him with a knife and tried to defend himself. Then her boyfriend stepped in to subdue him and continue the attack.

According to documents released by the district attorney's office, the man was stabbed more than 70 times and was nearly beheaded.
