Another Problem For Ozuna

Ozuna once again becomes the focus of a controversy.

The Puerto Rican singer appeared before the San Juan Homicide Division today where he would be interviewed about the murder that occurred on the morning of August 2 where he was, but he left the scene, the Primera Hora newspaper indicates.

Ozuna's truck - with several of his personal documents - was found at the crime scene, according to various media reports.

The young man killed by gunshot wounds was identified as Carlos Jiovanni Báez Rosa, 38, also known as Tonka and Jova. Báez Rosa was allegedly the third in command of a drug trafficking organization known as Las FARC, which operates in the Cantera area, a sector of San Juan, explains the Puerto Rican newspaper.

What happened? Where was Ozuna? “He was on the scene, but when the agent approached him to indicate that they had to interview him, he left the scene. We are looking for it”, explained Luis F. Pabón Bosque, director of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of San Juan.

The newspaper note explains that the Land Rover truck of Juan Carlos Ozuna, the singer's real name, was occupied. Inside the vehicle was a cell phone and his passport, among other documents.

Why did Ozuna leave the scene? Antonio Sagardía, the artist's lawyer, explained to the Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora that Ozuna ran from the place to protect himself from the shooting.

"He heard some detonations, everyone ran to protect themselves and he ran like everyone else would," said Sagardía. In addition, he added that Ozuna thought about his family. “He thought of his family, his children, what any human being who sees himself in a situation of violence and shooting would have done. The least you think of is your car and you protect yourself more outside a car than in one."

The lawyer Sagardía indicated that Ozuna knew the young man killed. "He knew him because this person who died I think he was also involved in some music and Ozuna is also from this area in Santurce and knew who he was," he explained to the newspaper. On the way to his appointment with justice this morning, Ozuna himself declared: "Yes, I knew this person, he was my friend."
