It's been less than seven days since social media shook with the release of a photo of singer Shakira with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that went around the world.

Now, the popular 45-year-old politician is once again shaking public opinion by releasing photos and video of his tender encounter with a Syrian refugee family who named their youngest son in his honor.

The meeting happened on Saturday in a "stampede" -a western event- held in the Canadian province of Manitoba. There, the president's official photographer, Adam Scotti, captured the moment when a Trudeau surrounded by admirers greeted Afraa Hajj Hammoud and Muhammad Bilan, the young couple of refugees who arrived in Canada in 2016 after fleeing Damascus via Lebanon with their eldest son.

The photo shows the president, dressed in a country style and with a Stetson cap, carrying the adorable creature. "This is Justin-Trudeau," the parents told him, explaining that they had named the minor in his honor. "I appreciate that you called him like me," Trudeau told them, according to accounts in the Toronto Star newspaper.

Justin-Trudeau Adam Bilan was born in Canada shortly after his family arrived in the country.

"How about we call the boy Justin Trudeau?" The mother told CNN when explaining the decision she and her husband made regarding the name of their son. "I said no problem, it will be a way of thanking Justin Trudeau for all he has done [for us]. We appreciate this man very much, he has helped the refugees a lot.”

The boy is not the first baby to bear the name of the Canadian president, as sources reported that in November 2016, another family residing in the province of Alberta had also named one of their children in honor of the Prime Minister.

Canada has received more than 40,000 refugees from Syria since 2015, the year the twenty-third president of that country assumed power.
