After the death of Mario Moreno Ivanova, his son Gabriel insinuated that he had died from cocaine use and not from cardiac arrest as officially reported. Given this, his widow Aurora Tita Marbez denied this version.

"Mario died of a sudden cardiac arrest in a state of perfect sobriety without alcohol and drugs," Marbez warned on the Mexican television program Ventaneando (TV Azteca). “I never saw Mario Arturo [Moreno Ivanova] use any drugs, never. In this house, in life, [he] did not use any drugs.”

The businesswoman condemned that the death of Mario Moreno Cantinflas' first-born was a matter of controversy on the part of public opinion.

The only thing he did acknowledge was that Moreno Ivanova was not in charge of the five children he had in his first two marriages; one of them even committed suicide and the other lives on the street using drugs.

“He was not a good father, I will never deny that; but it was not the monster they say either,”Tita mentioned.

Regarding the series on the life of Cantinflas, the businesswoman, who had a company in partnership with her husband on the rights to the comedian's name, explained that these have already been sold and the process continues, despite the death of Mario Moreno Ivanova, “The death of Mario Arturo does not interfere at all.
