An Alabama boy who had been dubbed "a miracle" for being born without a nose passed away last Saturday from an extremely rare health disorder.
Eli Thompson suffered from congenital arhinia, so he lacked nostrils, sinus cavities and, therefore, a sense of smell, everything caul gave him the physical appearance of not having a nose.
"We lost our little one last night," the child's father, Jeremy Finch, said in a Facebook message, adding that the family was very fortunate to have had the child in their lives. "We will never understand why things happened like this, and this will hurt deeply for a long time."
