Pillo Steals Maserati Car During Test Drive

Boca Raton, FL police have recovered a nza-rated Maserati car in Fort Lauderdale and ended up at an upscale resort in Palm Beach County.

It all started when Michael McGilvary II - who is now facing grand theft charges - arrived at a Fort Lauderdale auto agency last week and showed interest in a 2016 Maserati Gran Turismo model. The seller arranged a test drive, but not before. keep your driving license.

As reported by the branch of the ABC chain in Miami, during the test drive, McGilvary asked the seller to go in the luxurious car to the Boca Raton Resort Club (about 20 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, in neighboring county of Palm Beach), to show the vehicle to his girlfriend. Upon arrival, McGilvary asked the valet to keep the car running and entered the club with the seller.

Once inside, McGilvary told the vendor that he wanted to show him his father's yacht, so they headed for the marina behind the resort together. Once there, he said he was going to look for his girlfriend, but he never came back. When the unsuspecting representative of the car agency went to the parking area half an hour later, the valet informed him that his companion had already left alone.

Since McGilvary had given the seller his driver's license, it didn't take long for the police to find him. However, during his arrest, he denied having stolen the car or that he was the person who appears on the Maserati agency's security cameras.

Authorities on Tuesday recovered the vehicle that was parked at a Boca Raton apartment complex.
