The Oscar Awards this Sunday will truly be one of the most memorable in history. On the one hand there was the enormous scandal that was unleashed at the end of the show when the statuette was awarded to the Best Film of the Year in the wrong way and then a controversy was rekindled by sexual accusations against the Best Actor of the year: Casey Affleck.

Well, now reports from the ABC chain indicate that one of the tourists invited to enter the ceremony by surprise by the host of the show, Jimmy Kimmel, was in jail and had just been released days before the awards ceremony.

The walker in question is "Gary from Chicago", that is Gary Alan Coe (who appeared under that title before the world). The man has been in a California prison since 1994 and was released three days before the Oscar from the Corcoran Substance Abuse Center in Bakersfield, California.

Coe and his fiancee, Vickie Vines, stole a camera during the show by taking photos, greeting celebrities and especially living with the award-winning actor Denzel Washington, who jokingly “married” them on camera.

The couple reportedly met when Coe was behind bars and now the man has become deeply religious. The two plan to get married this summer.

“Change is possible. It is sad to be in prison for 20 years and to be able to become a father, grandfather of your children, Coe told the aforementioned chain. “Do you know what my son told me today and that it almost made me cry? He said he was proud of me. So hearing your children tell you that they are proud of you means the whole world.”
