In a Facebook conversation with The Daily Mail newspaper, the Mean Girls star answered several questions from the public about his career, his love life, politics and his work with refugees.
Although she reiterated that she had not converted to the Islamic religion, the 30-year-old woman did not dismiss the idea.
"I have studied the Koran for quite some time," he said. “It is a process to convert to anything. I respect all religions. It is a beautiful religion and I am a very spiritual person. […] It is something I have been studying”.
Speaking of his admiration for Islam, Lohan warned that no one can convert to any religion overnight. It was precisely this interest in the Muslim religion that raised his concern that it would be badly received back in the United States, where the current political climate is very tense after the immigration ban of President Donald Trump.
Regarding the controversial start of the Trump administration, Lohan expressed interest in meeting with the president and asked for his support.
"I think you will always be criticized if you are in the public eye," he said. "He is the president, we have to join him. If you can't beat him, join him.”
