United Airlines is investigating what happened last Saturday on one of its flights when the pilot displayed behavior so bizarre that it caused her passengers to hastily leave the aircraft that she was unable to take off until a replacement arrived.
According to The Washington Post, the pilot appeared on the flight from Austin, Texas to San Francisco, California, dressed in civilian clothes and took one of the intercom system phones to explain to the surprised passengers that they apologized for the delay, but that he was in the process of divorce.
The woman, who has not been identified, continued with her talk to the passengers, who immediately began to share the strange experience on their social networks.
Pam O'Neal, one of the passengers interviewed by the San Francisco KPIX TV channel, said that the pilot arrived and asked them "to vote if we wanted her to put on her uniform or to travel dressed like this."
According to USA Today, he also stated that he had not voted for either Trump or Clinton because they were liars.
Apparently he also asked the passengers not to worry because she was not going to be at the controls of the aircraft but her co-pilot, who was a man.
In this situation, about fifty passengers chose to leave the plane and among those who stayed, cries of fear were heard at the unusual situation and the fear that a misfortune would occur, since the woman seemed to have no intention to shut up.
United Airlines spokesman Charlie Hobart confirmed to The Associated Press that the pilot was not in uniform when she boarded the plane and that the company promptly dispatched a replacement pilot for the flight, which finally took off ninety minutes late.
