Several police officers were injured and more than 100 protesters were arrested during protesters they had after Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony on Friday in Washington DC
Two police officers from the capital city and another person were taken to the hospital for injuries of undetermined extent after the clashes of the security forces with protesters, the spokesman for the capital's fire department, Vito Maggiolo, told CNN.
Near 12th and K streets in Washington DC, protesters, many dressed in black, threw rocks and bottles at police officers preparing to disperse the crowd with tear gas.
Vandalism and several cases of property destruction are among the charges that those arrested could face.
Protesters smashed building windows, police cars, and burned vehicles, in addition to shooting down news stands, blocks from the White House. Despite the riots, the investiture parade continued.
On Saturday, a massive "Women's March" is expected in the capital against the new president.
