Michelle Obama celebrated her 53rd birthday on Tuesday, the last in the White House as the first lady of the United States.
Among the thousands of congratulations that Michelle has received, one that stands out is that of her husband Barack Obama.
“To the girl from the South who took the role she didn't ask for and made it her own. Happy Birthday. I love you”, wrote the president on his Twitter account along with a photo of the two riding on a golf cart.
This is not the first time that the US president, who will hand over the presidency to Donald Trump on January 20, publicly expresses his love for his wife.
In his farewell speech, Obama captivated the attention of the public, tearfully dedicating emotional words to the mother of his daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Although these are the last days of the first lady and her family in the White House, it has been speculated that Michelle will write a memoir and there are those who urge her to stand as a candidate for public office, either in Congress or to the presidency.
