After naming her an honorary ambassador, the United Nations has now decided that the Wonder Woman character is too sexy to be an example to girls and adolescents.

The UN had announced two months ago that heroin would be an ambassador for international efforts to promote women's equality, and two of the actresses who have represented her, Lynda Carter and Gal Gadot, were invited to a ceremony at the headquarters of the multilateral organization in New York.

However, the appointment did not sit well with some of its member countries and even among agency staff.

Critics argued that Wonder Woman's wardrobe - with a kind of strapless swimsuit under her cloak that reveals a lot of skin - was not best suited as a symbol to stop sexual exploitation of women.

A document against Wonder Woman as the honorary ambassador of the United Nations obtained 45,000 signatures and several officials of the organization revealed their rejection of the appointment.

The UN noted that collaboration with Wonder Woman from the beginning was going to be for a while. "It ended because it had to end," agency spokesman Jeffrey A. Brez told the AP agency.

Other cartoons that have received this honor in the past are the bear Winnie The Pooh and the fairy Tinker Bell.
