A few days ago we were scared to know that the beautiful actress Danna García tested positive for coronavirus and finally, because her discomfort was increasing, she had to be hospitalized. The Colombian with beautiful green eyes always kept in touch through her networks and spoke with her fans during the quarantine in which she is immersed.
Today, from the editorial staff of People en Español we speak exclusively with Danna's sister, Claudia García, who lives in Madrid with her husband, Diego Velasco (son of the legendary Raúl Velasco) and their two children. Also from the quarantine of a desolate Madrid due to the Covid-19, we want to know how this beautiful family is living this very difficult time in Spain and how Danna is in health.
Clau! Thanks for speaking with us. How is your family living the disgust of knowing that Danna got sick?
- My mom is in Miami, my brother is in Los Angeles and I am in Madrid … It is very hard, especially for my mom, to be away from us and especially from Danna at this difficult time for her.
What happened to Danna?
- Danna had just returned to Mexico from Madrid when she started to feel bad. Thank God, he took the responsible step of self-isolation upon arrival in Mexico, because he was aware of the risk of being a carrier of the virus. Isolating herself upon arrival saved Dante and her father, Ivan, from contagion. Today Danna is already out of the hospital and continues in voluntary isolation.
This is what Danna said about how her coronavirus symptoms were on twitter.
How is your sister now?
- He has slightly better days than others, which is normal, but in general he is stable and under medical care.
How's the kid, Dante?
- My nephew Dantito is a very healthy and happy boy, and is under the care of his father and nanny. Just today my children -Emma and Máximo, Dante's cousins- made a virtual playdate with him!
The isolation to which in the end we are all destined because of this virus. Is it proving difficult?
- I think that something that has helped us to achieve isolation more easily are social networks and interpersonal communication media. Being able to be in contact with loved ones in other parts of the world is very important to keep your spirits up.
What is life like now in a Madrid so beaten?
- It has been a very strong experience, without a doubt … It is surreal to see a city as full of life as Madrid almost in total silence … Deserted.
What advice would you give us to live a better family quarantine?
- The most difficult thing is to change the mindset. This mandatory safeguard should not be assumed as punishment, but as an opportunity to pause and reflect.

“In our case we are lucky to have a very close and fun family, so our time in quarantine so far has been positive . We have been locked up in the house for 15 days. My husband, Diego, only goes to the market one day a week to buy what we need. Children take classes online and do many family activities: we cook, sing, dance, play various board games, etc. In general, we try to follow exactly the same routine that we had before the confinement inside the house”.
That, as Claudia says, we live this quarantine as an opportunity and not a punishment. Thanks Claudia! From here we send you a big hug and another one for Danna with much affection, so that she can enjoy perfect health again soon.
