Jay-Z has had to come out to face the enormous commotion that has arisen due to the emergence in networks of photos that show the 50-year-old artist and his wife, singer Beyoncé, 38, sitting while Demi Lovato intoned the national anthem at Super Bowl LIV, held last Sunday.

In these images, the billionaire couple is shown comfortably sitting and observing the solemn moment in which the Mexican American sang the stars and stripes theme, moments before the game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs began., and where the latter were victorious.

Beyoncé was wearing thick pink sunglasses and her husband was wearing a baseball cap, which he did not take off either, as some do in such situations.

In order that this Tuesday the Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter participated in a talk at the prestigious Columbia University in Manhattan and there the moderator inquired about his decision asking him if he was trying to send a message, as many have speculated.

To be sure, Jay-Z witnessed his own daughter Ivy Blue Carter, 8, who accompanied him at the game, and who, he says, would not let him do something disrespectful.
