Alex Rodríguez recalled his friendship with Bryant, expressed his admiration for him as an athlete and a human being. "We met when we were teens," reveals A-Rod. “We follow similar paths. We went from high school to the big leagues and our daughters grew up together. People don't know this, but he was my secret coach. He pushed and motivated me, especially at the end of my career when I needed it most. He was always there, even after we retired, he was there for me. He went to the last JLO show in Las Vegas,”he recalls about Kobe. "I saw him a few months ago. I remember what he told me about how much he loved Vanessa and her daughters, and that he kept saying no to 99 percent of the [job] offers he received, choosing to spend as much time as he could with his family.”
