Ricky Martin has always supported his country, especially when a tragedy affects him, and continues to do so now with the current situation that Puerto Rico is going through.

The singer has resorted to his social networks to send a forceful message to Governor Wanda Vásquez - he resigns - for what he considers his lack of action in the face of the conditions in which citizens live due to a series of earthquakes that have affected the island. Given the reported losses and the lack of response from the authorities there, the Puerto Rican people have demanded the resignation of the leader, just as she did last year with former Governor Ricardo Roselló, who was forced to retire from office. after unstoppable protests.

And just as he did last year, Martin has shown solidarity with his compatriots and has asked Vásquez to leave his post.

The interpreter and father of four children published a video in which he is extremely annoyed while pointing out the faults of the governor; It also requires answers and help for the victims.

"17 days ago, the tragedy again touched Puerto Rico and 17 days ago, where there are boys, girls, men, women, literally living on the street, sleeping on the floor without a roof, without stability because nothing is progressing, because nothing is concrete. Men, women, volunteers, the third sector, the private company, they are doing the work that you are obliged to do,”said the singer in the video posted on his Instagram account. “Every day I receive information from people with a lot of credibility that tell me that you are not in control of the town and that you are not honest enough with us. The camps are still there, the mayors are still there,Our people are still homeless sleeping on the floor and to top it off today you summon the media to accompany them and take pictures with the victims, but the media cannot ask you any kind of questions. How do you pretend that we are going to react like this? All we want is transparency and information, we have questions, who is going to answer it for us? You".

Currently, hundreds of families have been unable to return to their homes due to the damage caused by the tremors that have hit the island since the end of December. In addition, dozens of schools are in inappropriate conditions to house their students, so some communities have improvised outdoor classrooms, without the apparent help of the Vásquez government.

"Unfortunately, there are no immediate legal mechanisms for you to leave [with] all your equipment and pay for everything that you are making us suffer," said the singer. "Governor, today her resignation is a matter of conscience, but for our country it would be an act of justice. Get out Wanda.”

Martin joins a long list of artists like Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny and Tito El Bambino who have supported Puerto Rico, either by showing their support or by giving help.
