For the Colombian singer Shakira, marriage is not a requirement to love. In fact, it scares him and he understands that part of the secret of keeping the flame of passion alive in his relationship with the Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué has been to live in an eternal courtship.
“Marriage scares me. I don't want him to see me as his wife, but rather as his girlfriend. It's like that forbidden fruit, I prefer to keep her attentive and think that everything is possible depending on her behavior, revealed the 42-year-old from Barranquilla, laughing.
Shakira made those remarks during an interview on the US show 60 Minutes (CBS) given to promote her long-awaited live performance alongside Jennifer Lopez at halftime of the Super Bowl.
After Shakira's confession, Piqué couldn't help but laugh with her and nod her head.
Shakira and Piqué's relationship was made public in 2010 and is one of the most stable courtships in show business. Despite reports of alleged separations, the two have managed to stay together.
In their 10-year relationship, Shakira decided to move to Barcelona, the city where Piqué lives and where her two children were born: Milan and Sasha, 6 and 4 years old, respectively.
