2020 will be a decisive year for Dayanara Torres, in addition to returning through the front door as judge of Mira who dances All Stars, the Puerto Rican will finish her treatment for skin cancer in March. In an intimate conversation with People en Español, the former Miss Universe spoke about her painful battle against melanoma and confessed how her heart is.

How is your health?

This has been a long process, I don't finish treatment until March 2020. I can tell you that the treatments are strong and that they do knock me down for three or four days.

What is the most difficult thing after each treatment?

After the treatment what I want is to sleep and I lie down, but it is normal. But from then on I have to get up. I have no choice but to get up in the morning. Even though my big boy [ Cristian] is living in New York for college, I still have my little boy [ Ryan].

You have always said it, your family is your great support …

My family supports me a lot, I have friends who push me. I get treatment every three weeks and there are always days that are more painful than others. My back hurts, but I am used to it and I am looking forward to the end of this treatment to start again.

How is your heart?

My heart is fine. I have focused on my health and this process. Henceforth it is what God wants. But for now [my attention has] my children, my family and I am focused on myself.
