The queen of the backstage at New York fashion week and director of education for the firm Essie, Rita Remark, has been setting the trend for years with her original manicures and on many occasions taking care of such famous hands as those of Cindy Crawford and even Meghan Markle. We spoke with the expert about the new trends that will make the jump from the catwalk to the streets this spring-summer season. Do not miss it.

What is your favorite trend for this spring?

The French manicure is back in style! Have fun choosing the colors you like best for the tips and leave the rest of the nail colorless. You can also revisit the classic from the 90s in a classic white and pink.

What colors are we going to see more this season?

Approaching spring we will see unique and more subtle cakes. Not typical Easter egg cakes, warm yellows, bright mints, and earth-hued corals. Try Essie's "check your baggage", "express to impress" and "set in sandstone" shades.

Gloss or matte, what is going to take more?

This season the brightest finish is a trend. To get more shine, nothing like applying a shiny topcoat on a very soft and smooth nail. To achieve this, apply a base and finish the manicure with a gel like "gel-setter", both by essie.
