We are in times of change and each effort that brands make, however small, is one more advance in the fight to make brands more inclusive both in the products they create, as well as in their operation center. That's why we love hearing good news like the mannequin change at Lane Bryant stores.
The company, founded by women and dedicated to creating clothes and accessories for plus size girls, has just exchanged its mannequins for others that have different skin tones in order for them to better represent their clients.
At the moment the collection of 14 plus-size mannequins with different skin tones will only be in the main store in Columbus, Ohio, according to a statement from the store.
“We believe in the yes. We knock down barriers and find a way to go around them,”says the brand on its website. We are here for her. She was and continues to be an inspiration to us all.”
The truth is that Lane Bryant has always been a pioneer in inclusion and continues to work hard to make even more changes in the fashion industry. In fact, it is the first store in the United States to take this initiative. Bravo!
