Cosmetic treatments have become a must for women who want to avoid wrinkles at all costs and those are almost the majority. And it is that the advances in the world of beauty have been revolutionary and every day more women feel more comfortable trying them and making them part of their beauty care. In recent years, one of the most popular and effective procedures to hide wrinkles in certain parts of the face is the Botox injection. However, not everyone works, and many women even have an allergic reaction when injected. Luckily, a new solution called Jeuveau, better known as Newtox (the new Botox), is now available for them, promising to give wonderful results. Even according to studies, this new alternative could be more effective in patients who do not have as many wrinkles or for those who do not see the desired results when using Botox. We spoke with Reana Myers, associate doctor (PA) at the Careaga Plastic Surgery clinic, who told us all about this new option.

What is Newtox?

It is the new FDA approved wrinkle treatment that comes as an alternative to Botox. It is a purified protein to hide wrinkles from facial expressions.

In which places of the face can it be applied?

It is mostly injected into the lines between the eyes, the horizontal lines across the forehead, neck, and crow's feet in the eye area.

How long does the effect last?

It lasts for several months. For most patients, the result lasts from three to six months.

What are the results that patients should expect?

Newtox temporarily improves severe lines and wrinkles formed by muscle activity. Patients can see results within two to three days after the procedure, and complete results can be seen within 7 to 10 days. We have seen that patients see results much faster than with Botox.

Is it considered better than Botox?

One product is not necessarily better than the other. It all depends on the patient and what they are looking for. Both are considered effective and safe. If the patient has been using Botox for a while and wants to switch to see faster results, then Newtox is an ideal alternative.
