When it comes to beauty, there are ingredients, gadgets, and tools that come into vogue all of a sudden, and we often hardly know why. So when we started hearing about some wonderful brushes that cost a whopping Lady Gaga, Padma Lakhsmi, Camila Mendes or Emeraude Toubia he is one of the professional fans of the brand. "These brushes are very well made, they last forever," she explained to the beauty portal The New Beauty. "The bristles have the perfect level of hardness and softness, being natural makes a huge difference, it works great for detangling very gently and without damaging the hair."
The natural bristles made with wild boar hair, the original design, its manufacturing process by hand, what these brushes promise to last, and their history of more than 130 years have made it a true cult object and a favorite of professionals.
Mason Pearson, the engineer who invented the product and founded the brand, arrived in London in the mid-1860s and started working in a small factory where they made brushes by hand. In 1885 he invented a machine that made the manufacturing process of brushes faster for which he won an award at the famous world exhibition in London that year.
Shortly after, he invented the semi-oval rubber that we see today in many brushes. After his death, his wife and children continued to improve this rubber and in fact the model that is still used today is no different from the one that was put up for sale in the early 1920s.
