For many Blake Lively was one of the best dressed on the red carpet at the Met gala. And it is that the dress with burgundy skirt that combined embroidered jewelry and transparencies was spectacular from any angle and totally at the height of the event, the biggest night of fashion.

The inspiration for this year's gala was the Catholic religion, and while some of them spent too literally interpreting it (eg, dressed as a nun), and others went entirely from the theme proposed by Anna Wintour, Lively winked at the theme. Wearing a golden crown reminiscent of the virgins we have seen in countless religious sculptures and paintings, she chose a burgundy dress that bears much religious symbolism.

But without a doubt the star of the look were the jewels that adorned from the bodice of the Versace dress to the ones that covered her arms, fingers and even nails !, all designed by Lorraine Schwartz and, according to People magazine reports, valued at more 2 million.

The crown was decorated with over 100 carats of champagne-colored diamonds, a pair of 30-carat Colombian emeralds, diamond earrings, gold bracelets, diamond and ruby rings, and, as usual, her engagement ring which she also designed the same jewelry.

"This year's may be my favorite dress so far," the actress told Vogu magazine a few months ago. "[The Versace team] has worked more than 600 hours and is not finished yet."

The actress had been planning the look and accessories for a long time, and of course the shoes that were once again her favorite firm: Louboutin. In fact, her date for such a special night was not her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, but designer Christian Louboutin.
