Since coming to the White House to serve as the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump has been the target of much criticism. Both her work and her style have been attacked incessantly. And it must be recognized that her husband, President Donald Trump, is not very popular, and many disagree with his way of governing. Of course, there are also many who have come to defend the ex-model. That is the case of designer Manolo Blahnik who neither short nor lazy came to her defense after thousands of people criticized her for a pair of shoes.
It turns out that a few days ago Melania and her husband left the White House bound for Texas to visit the areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey and for the occasion chose a khaki shirt-type dress, which I complemented with sunglasses and snakeskin heels, precisely from Manolo Blahnik. So the designer himself felt the need to defend his client.
"I don't think she is callous. I think she is working non-stop to make it all work,”Blahnik said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK. "She was just wearing the shoes she had when she left New York."
This is not the only time that the First Lady was criticized for her footwear. And is that the first time she went to Texas after the hurricane was also seen wearing black pointed shoes and super high. She was criticized a lot back then, but apparently she cares little about what they think of her.
"Yes, I think she should have used Hunter boots, but nothing, she decided to use that," said the designer. "I'm not very good at advising people on what to wear because [in the end] they wear whatever they want."
Although on both occasions Melania changed into more comfortable shoes upon arrival in Texas, many people still find it inappropriate to wear heels to travel to a disaster area. What do you think?
