Belinda Tells Us All About Her New Shoe Collection

Belinda is celebrating with the recent launch of her first shoe collection and it is not for less since for the Mexican singer this had been one of her biggest dreams. Belinda, who was attentive to every detail of the shoes that make up the Belinda X Capa de Ozono collection, -available at Capadeozono.com- claims to have captured her own style in each shoe without forgetting the tastes of her fans. We spoke with the artist, who told us exclusively about this project and her desire to expand her designs to clothing and accessories.

Tell us about how the idea of creating a shoe collection with Capa de Ozono was born

It was a great experience for me. I had always wanted to dabble in fashion and I also love shoes. What better support than Capa de Ozono, a Mexican company of the most important footwear of very good quality and that cares about giving the best to Mexican people.

What inspired you to make your first collection?

I was inspired by myself, how I would like to see people, how I dress when I travel. I like to be comfortable but always fashionable. I know that many times we like to wear heels all the time, that's why we made heels because they are different, comfortable and at the same time you can wear them anywhere, anytime, day or night.

I guess you must have had your fans in mind too …

[Yes] and in the Mexican woman. I wanted to set trends, create a very varied line that had from very feminine shoes to more sport, such as tennis and high boots. I think there are almost no high boots that have a good design in Mexico. [I wanted] to wear transparent heels, include glitter on the heel, always taking risks and creating something different and accessible because for me it is important that all young Mexican women can wear them.

Were you involved in every detail?

Yes, in every detail, from the packaging, the bag, the paper, in everything. I am always a perfectionist and I love taking care of every single detail as I do in my concerts, on my records, in everything that has to do with my music. I am very detailed and I look at everything.

How far do you want to go as a shoe designer?

I would love in another year to have the opportunity to make another collection. For me it is the beginning of very big things and more being so young. It is important for me to create a trend as I have always done and now bring it to all people, that everyone can wear my designs, that girls enjoy them, because they are super comfortable. They can wear them at all times. They will not be uncomfortable even if they bring them 5 or 6 hours in whatever their activity.

Why do you think shoes and being fashionable is so important to women?

All women like shoes even when we keep a super relaxed look. The shoes enhance the outfit of the day. For example, if you wear jeans with a shirt, you can wear good shoes that will make you feel more feminine, more beautiful, more elegant, more sexy. The shoe speaks a lot about women, it marks your personality a lot.

Do you like to buy a lot of shoes?

Yes I love it. I am a fan of shoes and I have all styles. I use this collection all the time, to travel, to concerts, to have a date or go to dinner with my friends. To go to the club, for everything, it is a very wide collection.

What is your favorite piece from the collection?

I like them all. I love sneakers, heels, Lolita boots, they are all very special.

Are you planning to design other things like clothing and accessories?

I would love to make clothes and accessories tomorrow, of course. As I tell you, this is the beginning of many things that will happen if God wants.

What other plans do you have professionally?

[I have many. The Baywatch movie opens next year, Trolls which is an amazing animated movie that is also very cool and is for all children and families. I'm going to do the voice and also [I'm going to] sing all the songs. [I'm going to] make my next album [and] I have many plans in that regard [but] the most important thing right now is the Belinda X Capa de Ozono shoe collection, which for me is a priority.
