Going through this pregnant quarantine has not been easy for Jacqie Rivera, who is just days away from giving birth. But thanks to his sister Jenicka he has been able to regain his calm and satiate anxiety with a simple question.

“Anxiety wanted me to enter, for thinking too much. At first I was more nervous,”Jacqie confessed to People en Español. “My sister Jenicka taught me one thing: say three things every day [for] which you are grateful. Every day she asks me, 'What are you grateful for today?' It is something that we are doing at home with the children instead of complaining because we are locked in the house. That has helped me stay calm, without anxiety, with prayer [and] positive music.”

But being at home with three little ones has not been easy, especially in the last days of her fourth pregnancy.

“What has helped me a lot with the children is a schedule now that they are at home all the time. I am pregnant and already in the last weeks a schedule is very important. Wake them up, have a routine because even though they complain, they like that routine and it also helps me not to get too stressed, he explained.

Fortunately, Jacqie has not worried about delivery conditions now that hospitals are busy tending to patients infected with coronavirus, thanks to the fact that late last year she decided to have a home birth.

“In November I decided to do a home birth and I thank God that I decided that, that I took the steps to plan that because everything that is happening now with COVID-19. I'm already ready to have my baby at home. I already have everything necessary,”he assured.

“I have a small tub, an inflatable delivery tub here in my room and everything is ready for the day when the pains give me, I have everything ready. I have my midwife who already knows where I live, where to park, everything is ready. I feel very good. We are just waiting [the hour], that is the most difficult thing, waiting. Thank God that I can have my baby at home and hopefully God first everything goes well, "he added.

What she couldn't prepare was a family babyshower, and her purchases of essentials for her baby were minimal because she has been home. Fortunately, her family came to the rescue and they have provided her with some of the things that every mother wants for the first days of her children's lives.

“I couldn't have a baby shower, but I went to buy. My sister Jenicka has bought me some things, also my grandmother, my aunt, my sister Chiquis, they helped me with some things, what was necessary, diapers, clothes, the bassinet, the playpen, things like that. I already feel ready”, she expressed.

To stay healthy, Jacqie has gone for a walk when the weather permits, taking precautions and following the rules of social distancing imposed by the government, so she recommends waiting mothers not to have remorse when asking her family to stay away during this crisis. sanitary.

“I think that at this time you worry more about everything that is happening. What I have learned is that it is okay to protect your baby, protect yourself, and sometimes I feel sorry to tell my family that no one can visit me, but your creatures are the most important thing you should take care of and as a mother “Everyone is going to want to visit you, see you and get excited for you, but until this [quarantine] is over and everything is fine and everyone is healthy, it is our greatest responsibility to take care of our babies, especially since they will not have vaccines, they are new. Try to enjoy this moment as best you can.”

To which he added: “I think it is beautiful that we have to stay at home with our children, especially when you have a newborn to meet him, take advantage of that time, discover yourself as a father and what is important to you. Find your voice as a mother. There are many people who love to tell you what to do, but if you are at home alone you can decide those things”.
