Dominican journalist Sofía Lachapelle, 45, says goodbye to Telemundo to embark on a new adventure, her book I am a special superhero (lanugo), and continue helping families with autistic children.

Tell us about your book. I'm happy. The book was written with autism in mind [and] how to detect it.

Your children Jayson, 12 years old; and Maximus, 10, have autism. What was the hardest part? My son Maximus [has] Asperger syndrome, is gifted, hyperactive, and Jayson is low-level autistic. The challenge for all levels of autism [is] the social part. The one that is not isolated. [Also] when you ask parents 'what have you learned from your child?' The first thing they say is patience, because they lose it. That is why we no longer have so much patience with the rest of humanity.

What have you learned from your children? They taught me that it is always, always a time to learn because we don't know everything. Autism is a mystery. Search is the key. We must not limit ourselves.

What projects do you have after saying goodbye to Telemundo? As a journalist, I am open to hearing proposals. I'm starting to write the synopsis for a reality show about autism.
