AB Quintanilla Will Not Be With His Children On Father's Day

This Father's Day, AB Quintanilla will not be able to spend it with his children, since he will be traveling to California from Texas, where he lives, for work reasons. But the musician and producer took it upon himself to live with some of his eight children - he has a stepdaughter from a previous relationship - before leaving home.

"For musicians it is very difficult [to celebrate] because we work for days which is Christmas, holidays, and rest," said Quintanilla. "It is when musicians work. [But] your children understand that they are eating, [they have] their clothes, all they have is because you are making that sacrifice.”

However, the younger brother of the late queen of the Tex-Mex Selena, assured that congratulations rain down on her offspring.

"Of course they put on their instagram, their social networks a photo and happy Father's Day," he said. "They call me and say Happy Father's Day."

Sacrificing the special days that are usually spent as a family, is not something that he thought would happen when Quintanilla became a musician, however he has managed to understand that being away from family is part of his profession.

“[Being away from home] is something you don't think of when you start this type of business. You never expect what comes with music, with being a musician, "he said. "There are good things, bad things. We have to emphasize what is good."

That includes the fact that three of her children want to follow in her footsteps.

"Three of my children who have already entered music, two [are] bassists who are already playing bass like me, and one started [playing] the drums," he confirmed of his younger children.
