Upon receiving the offer to star in the new series Silvana sin lana, which premieres this summer on Telemundo, Carlos Ponce did not think twice. Not only did he like the script and the idea of acting with Maritza Rodríguez again, he could also spend more time with his children who live in Miami, where the soap opera is recorded.

The coveted single dad - of the twins Savannah and Sienna, 13, Sebastian, 14, and Giancarlo, 16 - enjoys this adolescent stage for his children. “I have help because I have the mother of my children who is a wonderful woman. She is a great mother and educator. They are all teenagers. They are very good children, honor students. Before we all went to the cinema to see the same movie, now everyone wants to see a different one. Girls want to go to concerts, they are in another stage. Giancarlo has his partner, and Sebastián is the most independent, the most reserved and is my mirror, he is identical to me”, he tells People en Español.

According to the Puerto Rican actor, he enjoys simple things and small moments with his children. “I think that Mother's Day should be so that the mother takes the day off and the father takes the children. 'Take the kids away and let me go to the spa myself,'”he jokes. "No, I love spending the day with my children! I am of the opinion that mom and dad should celebrate the whole year. When you live every day celebrating the gift of the family, Father's Day is special because the children write you a letter or they show it to you, but we are showing love and affection all year long, "he adds.
Ponce acknowledges that his children have been his best teachers. "It is an immense responsibility and you have to understand that being a good father goes beyond facilitating material things for your children," he reflects on fatherhood. "One must put the well-being and interests of children above ours."
